The 2014 IAS Annual Meeting took place on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the Long Island Marriott in Uniondale. The featured speaker was Ms. Davar Ardalan, who is a senior producer for NPR's midday-news program Tell Me More, where she oversees the live broadcast and leads conversational social media campaigns.
Ms. Ardalan spoke on the cultural ties between Iran and the United States dating back to the 1800's, as well as contributions that Iranian-Americans are making today in this country. The focus was on the fact that we excel as individual trailblazers and the reality that they must embrace and harness these individual contributions in order for a larger collective purpose.
