The Iranian American Society Nowruz Gala took place on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Leonard's of Great Neck. The program included dinner, dancing, live music and entertainment by Hamidreza Talebzadeh and band. The Iranian American Society also honored two distinguished Iranian Americans: Dr. Jasmin Moshirpour (Iraj), Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science and Dean for the Queens/Elmhurst Medical School Programs, and Dr. Shahrokh Ahkami, Obstetricians and Gynecologists, as well as Editor-in-Chief and Publisher of Mirass-e-Iran. In addition, during the Nowruz ceremony, IAS awarded Mr. Saeed Manii with an Appreciation Award for his service as a Member of the Board of Directors and Vice President of the Society from 2010 to 2014.
