IAS has made donations to:
- $1300.00 to Roudaki foundation.
- $300.00 to Persian Parade.
- $500.00 to Asia Society.
- $10,000.00 to Massachusetts General Hospital towards Dr. Roksana Sasafar Autism Research.
- $3,650.00 to Ameneh Bahrami, a victim of domestic violence.
- $1,000.00 Financial aid to a needy Iranian family.

- Nowruz 1387 Celebration on March 22, 2008 at North Hills Country Club
- Massachusetts General Hospital Autism Research fund-raising event on August 10, 2008 at Iranian American Society, Lecturer Dr. Roksana Sasanfar.
- Mehregan Celebration October 17, 2008 at Miller Theater, Debut performances by Saba Ensemble.
- Co-sponsoring movie presentation "Santouri" with Asia Society, November 13, 2008, followed by Q & A with Director Dariush Mehrjui and Dr. Jamshid Akrami.
- Yalda Night. December 19, 2008 at Persian Tea Room.
- 28th Annual meeting and open forum and election of Board Members, January 11, 2009.
- Fundraising event for Ameneh Bahrami, February 8, 2009. By generous participations of Pari Zanganeh (famous Iranian Vocalist), Bahman Kiaee (well known Iranian musician) and young Artist Mona Sabouri at the Iranian Armenian Society.

| IAS had a successful membership drive in 2008.

| Education |
Ferdowsi School began its academic year on September 5, 2008. Classes take place at James Vernon School at 880 Oyster Bay Road in East Norwick. The School has Persian classes from kindergarten to advanced levels.
The School's directors and teachers work hard to improve the program. In an attempt to introduce the Iranian Culture to the student along with the Persian language, Ferdowsi School organizes Special program for Mehregan, Yalda and Nowruz for the students and parents.
Ferdowsi School of IAS now is planning to open its school in White Plains – Westchester County for Fall Session.
