| The Iranian American Society of New York completed its fiscal year with the following highlights: |
| Social and Cultural Events: |
- 2013 New Year's celebrations: December 31, 2012 at Leonard's of Great Neck, New York
- Annual General Meeting and Luncheon: January 13, 2013 at Long Island Marriott Hotel. Keynote Speaker Ambassador John Limbert on "To Whom Iran is a Threat?"
- Elections: January 13, 2013: Newly elected Board members for 2013-2015: Sholeh Sharifi, Reza Hedayati, Alireza Hedayati, Majid Khosrowshahi and Hooshang Mirlohi.
- Nowruz 1392 (Persian New year) celebrations: March 22, 2013 at Leonard's of Great Neck, NY with KamyR as the entertainer.
- Sizdehbedar Outing: March 31, 2013, at Eisenhower Park, East Meadow, New York.
- Honoring the life and accomplishment of Professor Nasser Sharify: November 3, 2013 at Long Island Marriott Hotel. Persian and Classical music was performed by Master Navid Kandelousi.
- Annual General Meeting and Luncheon, January 12, 2014 at Long Island Marriott Hotel. Keynote Speaker, Iran Davar Ardalan, Senior Producer at NPR on "Iranian American Lean-In."
- Elections: January 13, 2014: Newly elected Board members for 2014-2016: Yeganeh Samii, Haleh Morshed, Floria Samii Nikpour and Mohsen Zandieh.

| Education: |
- The Ferdowsi School in Long Island is located in Brookville, NY, at the Greek Orthodox Church, and currently has 30 students. The school has 6 classes, ranging from kindergarten to advanced. This year, in addition to graduation in May, the school had the Nowruz, Mehregan and Yalda celebrations.
- Starting March 29th, the Ferdowsi School in Long Island started teaching a series of Art Classes, included painting and calligraphy. Mr. Majid Khosrowshahi spent time with the students and familiarized them with calligraphy. Click here to see a slide show of activities in art class.
- The Ferdowsi School in Westchster is located at the Highland Middle School in White Plains, and currently has 27 students. The classes in this school range from kindergarten to 2nd grade. The school celebrated Nowruz and Yalda in addition to the graduation in May.
